okay so how to get the most out of your poly filter

now poly filter is basically god's gift to fish tanks
it's absolutely amazing how it polishes water
it absorbs and absorbs anything out of water anything that shouldn't be in the water and holds in solution what should be in the water and um it'll take out all your particles by cleaning them not trapping them so how to get the most out of it number one is a poly filter starts off white and over a period of months it'll turn to black so a lot of people throw it out when it's dark brown because from dark brown to black i think its efficiency absolutely decreases but if you want to get the most out of the poly filter the first thing you can do is you can put a poly filter in imagine
it's a sump or a canister filter or  whatever and then you could put a fresh one in
and then put a new poly filter on top sorry the other way around put a fresh
one in and put the old poly filter on top that way the water goes through the old
poly filter and then any little skerricks that are left in the use of the old poly filter can get used up then it goes to the new poly filter that can polish the water
maximum now the other thing you can do too if you're prepared
to clean your filter regularly and do not do this if you're not
prepared to clean your filter regularlyif you clean your filter once a week
do this if you clean your filter once a month don't do this
because you can get very effective filter walls
and then you can actually put them in there and then it goes
through the filter wall the filter will collects all your crap then you want to when the fill door gets dirty you want to throw that out so for something like a sump filter that's super easy if you've got a maintenance guy come once a month
probably don't do this if it's getting cleaned regularly do do it
so you're gonna put some filterable down then you're gonna put your old poly
filter then you can put new poly filter underneath now that way
you're getting some of the solid crap remov d before it even gets to the poly filter
increasing the value of the poly filter the other thing that you can do is put your old poly filter underneath so it's used up to its maximum anyway if you ever have any other tips for poly filter then put a little note on the bottom of
this video don't forget to subscribe to this channel but they do claim that you can recharge the poly filter which you can do but personally i couldn't be bothered i'm not sure the value in recharging it is worth my effort i just buy a new one
